Climate change: Trees ‘most effective solution’ for warming
This is the first of five short posts about climate change and how Missoula can continue to lead the conversation in Montana.
Earth is approaching environmental thresholds that, if crossed, will create serious disruptions to ecosystems, economies, and society
Climate change is real and in Montana, we’re already seeing the impacts of hotter, dryer summers and accompanying wildfire season. We have to take action. The changing seasons have devastating impacts on our health, our economy and the long term health of our ecosystems. The United States is second on their list with 103 million hectares of space for potential forest restoration.
This certainly isn’t the only thing we can do, but it’s a piece of the puzzle and as citizens the Garden City (and of the earth) we have a responsibility to support our urban forest.
